In December of 2013 a 64 year old woman went to a diner in Poughkeepsie with her husband for breakfast. It was snowing out. There was ice in the parking lot obscured by the newly falling snow. As the woman exited her car she slipped on the ice and struck her head. She sustained a concussion. All objective tests were negative but she reported balance issues, memory loss and constant headaches. She was examined by three defense experts who concluded there was nothing wrong with her from this incident. The case was settled after mediation and shortly before trial for $235,000.
