In June of 2015, our client was driving his car on Route 44/55 in Gardiner. His 23 month-old daughter was strapped into her car seat in the back. The defendant driver was high and crossed over, striking our client’s car head-on. Our client’s daughter suffered a fractured skull with resulting vision issues and night terrors. Thankfully, her cognitive abilities appear to be unaffected. The case was placed into suit and after depositions, the insurance carrier offered its full policy limits for the young child, who is now almost 6. The money will be placed into a structured settlement (an annuity) so that she will receive a stream of payments when she is older.
