Our client, a 45-year-old married mother of two is a receptionist at a local business. Her employer did not own the building. In February of 2018 she was walking on the sidewalk where she worked to get to her car at the end of the day. For some reason, two downspouts had been placed to direct water onto the sidewalk where it froze. She slipped and twisted but did not go down. She suffered a torn left ACL tear which required surgery. The case was placed into suit and then settled at mediation for $125,000 plus a full waiver of the workers compensation lien.
