Tomorrow marks 20 years since our lives changed forever on September 11, 2001– one of the most painful days in our nation’s history. Though so many years have passed, it still feels like yesterday. We continue to mourn the innocent lives lost and pray for the families impacted. In the face of unthinkable tragedy, countless first responders raced towards danger, putting their own lives on the line to save others. We will never forget their sacrifices.
As we reflect on that day, and the days following, we remember the unity, kindness, resiliency and compassion shown by so many. Our country came together to heal and, as Jeff Parness, founder of New York Says Thank You said, “When Americans lend a hand to one another, nothing is impossible. We’re not about what happened on 9/11. We’re about what happened on 9/12.”
