A 68 year old man was riding his bicycle on West 110th Street in NYC. The defendant made an illegal u-turn across the double yellow line, striking the man, throwing him from his bike. The man sustained fractures to his right wrist, requiring surgery. He also had bruising to his shoulder and hip, which resolved. He is left with a trigger finger. He made an excellent recovery and is back to all of his previous activities, including riding his bicycle daily. The case settled for $175,000.
